Identity theft can happen when someone acquires your personal information such as name, date of birth, Social Security number, or your mother's maiden name in order to impersonate you. Fraud is committed when criminals access your bank accounts, obtain loans in your name, make purchases using your identity, etc.
Never share your online password with anyone.
Be suspicious of any e-mail or individual who asks for this information.
We never ask for your password via e-mail or telephone. If anyone claiming to represent our bank asks for your password, contact us immediately.

Never share personal information over the phone with anyone unless you initiated the contact or know for certain with whom you are speaking.
Before providing any personal information, ask how it will be used and protected and if what you're asked to provide is voluntary or mandatory to complete the transaction.
Use your credit card number only on secure Internet sites that use encryption (look for "https" in the URL/address bar or the lock icon at bottom right corner of your browser.)
